As zinc reacts with the environment, it gradually forms a thin protective patina on the surface. This layer helps slow further corrosion and improves long-term durability.

The dull grey appearance often seen on galvanized steel is usually part of this natural protective process.

Built for Real Construction Conditions

For steel connectors, details matter. Punched holes, formed corners and cut edges are often the most vulnerable areas in real-world use.

The Z275 zinc coating helps provide:

• barrier protection,
• sacrificial protection at exposed areas,
• and long-term corrosion resistance for many standard construction applications.

For harsher environments — such as coastal areas, highly humid structures or aggressive treated timber applications — stainless steel options such as A2 or A4 may also be recommended.
