QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ISO 9001:2015

The ISO 9001 quality management system is one of the most widely used quality management standards, preferred by companies of various sizes and industries worldwide.

This management system covers all our activities, from product development to sales. It defines all company procedures and operations, ensuring a consistent understanding across all departments on how to act in different situations.

The primary goal of the quality management system is continuous improvement, increased efficiency, and systematic analysis through ongoing internal audits and regularly scheduled external assessments.

Our management system has been certified by Kiwa Estonia OÜ.

FPC

Factory Production Control (FPC) refers to the manufacturer’s ongoing internal control aimed at ensuring that products comply with the established requirements.

For the products manufactured at the ACF factory, the issued ETA (European Technical Approval) requires that the use of the CE marking is conditioned by the fact that the production control system undergoes continuous external evaluation and supervision.

The production control system encompasses both technical activities and other measures to ensure and verify the conformity of products with the technical description. Its effectiveness relies on the control of measuring instruments and devices, raw materials, components, machines, production equipment, and finished products, along with the systematic use of the results obtained.

Arras OÜ’s production control system is certified by the internationally recognized certification body Kiwa Estonia OÜ, which has issued the corresponding certificates.

These certificates confirm the successful completion of the initial inspection of the manufacturing facility and the ongoing internal control by the manufacturer, ensuring that production complies with the applicable requirements.

European Technical Assessment

The European Technical Assessment (ETA) is an approval technical recognition granted regarding the suitability of a construction product for its intended use. During the ETA issuance process, the compliance of the construction product with the applicable European Union requirements is assessed when the product is used in a building. The goal is to ensure that the user of the construction product can be confident that using the product will help ensure the building’s compliance with all relevant requirements.

An ETA is issued if one of the following conditions is met:

There is no relevant harmonized standard for the product

The standard does not have approval from the European Commission

The European Commission believes that a standard cannot be developed (yet)

The product significantly deviates from the relevant harmonized standard

A properly issued European Technical Assessment is also a requirement for obtaining the CE marking for a construction product. To obtain the CE marking, the manufacturer must certify the production process (FPC) after the ETA has been issued.

For ACF, ETAs have been issued by the certification bodies ETA-Danmark a division of DS Certificering A/S, and Eurofins Expert Services Oy.

ETA-Danmark is a member of the European Organisation for Technical Assessment (EOTA – The European Organisation For Technical Assessment).

CE-marking

The CE marking is a manufacturer’s declaration that the product they have made complies with all relevant European Union directives and has passed the necessary checks. Products with the CE marking can move freely within the entire European Union territory.

For a product to receive the CE marking, a technical description must be prepared, which serves as the basis for certification. There are two main types of technical descriptions:

Harmonized European Standard (hEN)

European Assessment Document (EAD 130186-00-0603)

The use of the CE marking becomes mandatory once the transition period ends, i.e., the period during which both the national standard and the harmonized standard (hEN) apply concurrently.

Depending on the nature of the product, the relevant standard or technical assessment determines the exact procedure for certification. For example, for three-dimensional nail plates (such as nailing brackets and joist hangers), EAD 130186-00-0603 applies, and the prerequisite for obtaining the CE marking is the certification of production according to the 2+ system.

The 2+ system means that:

The manufacturing plant must implement continuous Factory Production Control (FPC), which includes internal quality control in accordance with the European Technical Approval (ETA).

Products must be tested according to a specific frequency and testing plan.

The production control system and product conformity must be audited and confirmed by an independent and accredited certification body, which also monitors the factory.

As a result of the entire certification process, a Declaration of Performance is created, which is the manufacturer’s official confirmation that the product meets all the requirements and that its compliance has been verified.

Arras CF’s main products are covered by the CE marking, and all new products we develop will also receive the CE marking in accordance with the applicable requirements.
